Seven foot, two-inch, Three hundred and forty-five pound actor, writer, producer, Richard Kiel is best known for his role as the steel-toothed Jaws in the two successful James Bond movies, The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker, was supposed to die in the first Bond movie.
But because the character was so successful he came back with a girlfriend and a new attitude which took him over to the side of good.
Or, as the bully named Club in Pale Rider who after a failed encounter with Clint Eastwood turns to the side of good to help a young girl who is about to be raped.
Or, co-starring with Harrison Ford and Robert Shaw in the critically acclaimed Force Ten From Navaronne where Kiel plays the Chetnick traitor Captain Drazac, a Nazi sympathizer who fools the Allied forces into believing that he is a Partisan buffoon.
More recently, Kiel made audiences laugh and love him playing "Mr. Larson", Adam Sandler's boss in Happy Gilmore who accidently gets a nail in his head and a golf shot off his foot, but remains loyal to Happy and helps him get his championship jacket back.
But prior to the Bond Films, Kiel was a successful working actor for seventeen years playing the killer on the train in The Silver Streak with Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor.
The Longest Yard with Burt Reynolds where he played a convict football player who breaks another player's "freakin' neck" in the game against the guards.
But long before these successful movies, Richard Kiel was an active actor in such memorable television shows as Twilight Zone where he appeared in the classic "To Serve Man" episode as a Kanamit.
Or as Barbara Eden's old boyfriend in the nostalgic I Dream of Jeannie series.
Richard played the Diablero in Nightstalker and the Cash McCall's right hand man, Moose Moran on the Barbary Coast series starring William Shatner and Doug McClure.
From the Monkees to Lassie and The Man From U.N.C.L.E. to song and dance on Danny Kaye and as a regular on Van Dyke and Company, Richard has proven himself to be a versatile actor.
From working on the stage in the beginning of his career with Joel Grey and Cyril Richard in The Roar of The Greasepaint, Richard went on to guest star in almost every television series on the air, from episodes of Gilligan's Island to obscure shows like My Mother the Car.
In recent years Kiel has co-written and co-executive produced his own family oriented movie which he starred in, The Giant of Thunder Mountain, which received four-star reviews and a Family Film award.
Richard has teamed up with "Academy Award" winning screenwriter (Oscar for Best Screenplay for the movie Witness starring Harrison Ford) Pamela Wallace who has authored 29 published novels to co-write Kentucky Lion, the Cassius Clay Story. It’s completed and out to agents for review at the moment.
