R. Vernor, best known to his fans under the pen name Corvis Nocturnum, a guest panelist at Dragon Con 2011 in Atlanta, GA alongside paranormal and vampire authors such as Michelle Belanger and Rosemary Ellen Guiley. The authors most recent books are Haunted Asylums and Zombie Nation: From Folklore to Modern Frenzy. He occasionally is a writer for Dark Resurrected Magazine. He is the founder and publisher of Dark Moon Press.
Other works include, Most Haunted: Scariest Places of Earth (Dark Moon Press, 2012) and Haunted Asylums, (Schiffer Publishing,fall 2012) is b est known for his debut book Embracing the Darkness; Understanding Dark Subcultures, a cross examination of prominent (and not so prominent) denizens of misunderstood dark counter cultures, it features interviews with Monolith Graphics' Joseph Vargo and Christine Filipak, occult/vampire expert and fellow Dark Moon Press affiliate Michelle Belanger (author of the Psychic Vampire Codex, the Psychic Energy Codex and many more), "The Vampire" Don Henrie of Sci-Fi Channel's Mad Mad House (among other television appearances including A&E's documentary Biography: Vampires), current Church of Satan High Priest Magus Peter H. Gilmore, Playboy and Fetish model Bianca Beauchamp, gothic clothing designer Kambriel, Geoff Kayson (founder of the occult jewelry retailer Alchemy Gothic), members of the dark metal band URN and countless others. He is the former publisher of The Ninth Gate Magazine.

Born in May of 1971, great-grandson of a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Freemason, Corvis Nocturnum began his foray into the dark and decadent world of professional art in the year 2000 as Darkartist V. Heavily influenced by artists such as Brom, Joseph Vargo, Luis Royo and Dorian Cleavenger, this self taught renaissance man combined gothic ambiance with tastefully erotic imagery. His works have been featured on covers of books, music catalogs, in galleries and in Julie Strain's Nightmare on Pinup Street (published by Heavy Metal).
He is a media agent for the Church of Satan, and promoted to the status of Warlock on April 11, 2007 (the anniversary of Anton LaVey's birthday). His interview on The BET The Lexi Show can be found on YouTube.
He belongs to the House Kheperu forum, serves as administrator on The Lost Children of the Oubliette, and is a member of both the Tantric Vampires and the Vampire Research forum as well as the Vampire Voices Council. Corvis has been a speaker at a World Religions Seminar at the Indiana-Purdue University Fort Wayne. Corvis is a repeat speaker at House Kheperu in Cleveland Ohio and at Convocation in Detroit Michigan.
