Macabre Faire Film FestivalThe Macabre Faire Film Festival, created by TwitchTwitch Productions, is a judged festival for independent filmmakers to enter their Strange-ifical, Weird-ifical, Horror-ifical, Sci-fi-tastical, Fantastical and Macabre-licious films to be viewed by the fans with the opportunity to win awards, increase film visibility via press and possibly obtain distribution.

Macabre Faire Film FestivalFor starters the word "Macabre" is pronounced: Ma-Cob. The "re" is hardly ever heard. What does it mean?

Although it is an adjective meaning: disturbing and horrifying because of involvement with or depiction of death and injury, we usually approach the Macabre Faire Film Festival with a lighter touch in the sense that, not all of the films screened have been a gore fest. Of course, there isn't anything wrong with adding some gore to a macabre film fest but, when we hear the word "Macabre" we remember those hauntingly fascinating films that starred legendary greats such as: Vincent Price & Peter Cushing. Or those fantastic Gothic horrors like those from "Hammer" films. These names in themselves represent what "macabre" means to us. What we are saying is that the word "Macabre" doesn't have to be about the hardcore gore, violence or scare but instead it could be about what you don't see or hear but, still manages to reach your fear's core whether it's a terrifying horror movie, a dark natured Sci-Fi, a thriller that has you clawing at your seat and of course let's not forget those fantasy films or comedies with their horror twists. Truth be told those exist too and yes, we welcome them. How can we not when you have such wonders out there like the original Evil Dead saga. Can you even imagine a macabre movie world without the likes of the Evil Dead?

All submitted films are pre-screened by select judges with the mission of finding the "Official Selections" for the Film Festival.
